Covolutional Neural Networks for recognising cancer through DNA methylation

DNA Methylation has been the most extensively studied epigenetic mark. Usually a change in the genotype, DNA sequence, leads to a change in the phenotype, observable characteristics of the individual.A CNN based Deep Learning model that can classify the cancer of a new DNA methylation profile based on the learning from publicly available DNA methylation datasets is then proposed.

Wireless Power Transfer For Electric Vehicles

Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) has been used to transfer small amounts of power over small distances to run smartphone. popular application for this is the wireless charging of electric and hybrid electric vehicles. However, designing systems to send large amounts power over large distances while maintaining appreciable efficiency is hard to do. In this work,a comparison has been made between the popular coil shapes and the effects of the change of coil parameters like number of turns, pitch and inner and outer radius on efficiency of the coil has been studied.

Bots to Combat Sexism

Four in ten women in the United States have faced gender discrimination in their workplace. Sexism at the workplace is a global problem. Unfortunately, sexism is often reflected in workplace conversations through an unintentional bias. How can we detect such sexism at work? Conversations in workplaces which can be monitored, often happen on platforms like Slack, Outlook etc. The Sexist Caution Bot helps to detect general sexist remarks in an organization.

Know Your Pills: A Pill Shape Classifier

Pill Shape Classifier can be used in industrial belts to help classify pills on their shapes. This can further increase the speed and help to decrease human errors. Pill segregation can also be domestically used by older adults to help identify their medicines. This project was made using the UP Embedded Vision Starter Kit.

Gallium Nitride Power Device Modeling using Deep Feed Forward Neural Networks

A novel approach to modelling Gallium Nitride (GaN) power devices using Machine Learning (ML). This work proposes deep feed forward GaN ML device models which are highly accurate and can predict the switching behavior of the device without having to delve into the physics and geometry of the device. The strategy in this research work is to use deep learning techniques to build a GaN based regression model using stochastic gradient algorithm by back propagation.

Optical Character Recognition For Handwriting Recognition

Optical Character Recognition is an upcoming field and is much fascination among deep learning researchers.OCR is the conversion of typed or handwritten text into machine-encoded text.But what happens when your text consists of a Handwritten description? Handwriting is the most humane form of data available in the world of natural language processing. There are several styles and manner that defines a person's writing. CNN-RNN architectures in Deep Learning provide a far lower accuracy for predicting such text. I propose a method by combining CNN-NGram and Image Augmentation for recognizing handwritten text.

In India, NTL accounts for roughly 50% of the total loss every year.Irregularities in power usages are detected using a state-of-the-art artificially intelligent algorithm: Recurrent Neural Networks. The algorithm uses Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) units to process sequential power consumption data.

MAC Net is a compositional attention network designed for Visual Question Answering. We propose a modified MAC net architecture for Natural Language Question Answering. Question Answering typically requires Language Understanding and multi-step Reasoning.
